Carrol J. Gullickson, 78, of 3533 Lever St., Eau Claire, died Thursday, October 31, 2002 at Luther Hospital. He was born in Menomonie on August 17, 1924, the son of Herman and Tillie (Hanson) Gullickson. His family moved to Eau Claire when he was a year old. He attended Eau Claire Senior High School with the class of 1942.\r\nHe enlisted in the U.S. Navy Air Corp in March 1944 and was honorably discharged in June 1946.\r\nCarrol married Geraldine R. Erickson on June 4, 1949 in Eau Claire.\r\nCarrol was employed at National Presto Industries for 20 years, after which he held various sales positions including many years as a real estate broker.\r\nHe was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, a life member of VFW Post #305 and a member of Elks B.P.O.E. #402.\r\nCarrol was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, storytelling abilities and his uncanny wit. With friends and relatives he enjoyed over 50 years on the golf course.\r\nHe is survived by his wife of 53 years, Geraldine; a daughter, Barbara (Dan) Kelly of Roscoe, IL; sons, Mark and John (Janet Shirk) both of West Palm Beach, FL; five grandchildren, Katie, Ryan and Meghan Kelly of Roscoe, IL; Christopher and Kathryn Clare Gullickson of West Palm Beach, FL; sister-in-law, Arlene (Norman) Solberg of Eau Claire; brothers-in-law, Eldon (Joanne) Erickson of Walnut Creek, CA and Robert Erickson of Eau Claire; nieces and nephews.\r\nCarrol was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Orrin, Gordon, Noel, Hilmond and Phillip; three sisters, Bertha Ableidinger, Lila Eggleston and Muriel Wagner Bardwell; a niece, LaVonne Gullickson Wahl and his mother-in-law, Myrla Erickson Wagnild.\r\nMemorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, November 4, 2002 at St. John's Lutheran Church with Pastor Howard Fehr officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery where VFW Post #305 will conduct military rites. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the family.
