Catherine June Flynn, 96, of Eau Claire, died Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at Heritage Assisted Living in Eau Claire. Catherine was born in Eau Claire on June 29, 1920, a daughter of William and Bertha (Perry) Ralph. Catherine married Patrick G. Flynn on November 10, 1938, in Eau Claire. Pat passed away on April 7, 1980. She worked for the family business, Flynn Gardens. She also spent 5500 hours of volunteering at Sacred Heart Hospital. Catherine was a charter member of St. James the Greater Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Homemakers and Helping Hand, St. James PCCW. Catherine enjoyed doing charity work, crossword puzzles, feeding the many birds and squirrels, planting flowers, and spending time with her family. Catherine is survived by her children, Margaret (Gary) Johnson of Elk Mound, Patricia (Robert) Kohls of Fridley, MN, David (Shirley) Flynn of Elk Mound, Steven (Judy) Flynn of Calistoga, CA, Joe (Cheryl) Flynn of New Braunfels, TX, Catherine (Jeff) Skeate of Bloomington, MN, Bill Flynn of Eau Claire, Mary (Rob) Argall of Roseville, CA, and Tim (Debbie) Flynn of Elk Mound; and daughter-in-law, Lori Flynn of Elk Mound. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, as well as other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick; son, Richard P. Flynn, infant daughter, Bridget; parents; sister, Anna Mae (Carl) Lindbo; brother, Thomas (Elaine) Ralph; and several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 2502 11th St. in Eau Claire with Father Tom Krieg officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, February 3, 2017, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Avenue in Eau Claire, with a Public Prayer Vigil at 6:30 p.m., and one hour prior to the Mass on Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Francis Food Pantry, 1221 Truax Blvd. Eau Claire, WI 54703, Community Table, 320 Putnam St. #2, Eau Claire, WI 54703, or the charity of the donor's choice.
