Obituary

CECIL L. BERG, 83, formerly of 815 Chapin St., died Wednesday, December 15, 1999 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Chippewa Falls. She was born January 20, 1916 in Clark County, near Thorp, Wisconsin to Arthur and Lula Mae (Gilman) Shilts. Cecil married Albin W. Berg in Fall Creek on August 1, 1937, and they moved to Eau Claire in 1940. She was a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church. Following Albin's retirement they enjoyed fishing and staying at their trailer near Chetek.\r\nSurvivors include two daughters, Donna (Dale) Stotesbury of Winter, and Patricia (Brice) Marsh of Eau Claire; two sons, William of Grand Marsh and Albin Jr. (Bonnie) of Eau Claire; 14 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Everett (Bernice) Shilts of Louisiana and Thomas (Dolores) Shilts of Trego; three sisters, Florence Kastner of Mexico, MO, Betty (Clarence) Buchholz of Eau Claire and Sharleen (Ernest) Thom of Baldwin; many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband Albin in 1987; parents; six brothers, Austin, Wayne, Douglas, Forest, Fred and James Shilts; and two sisters, Genelda Krueger and Mary Welke. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Epiphany Lutheran Church with Pastor Brent L. Parrish officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
