Charles W. Franks, 58, of Altoona passed away Friday, November 29, 2002 at Sacred Heart Hospital. He was born July 27, 1944 in Scottsbluff, NE, the son of Charles E. and Mary E. (Freeman) Franks.\r\nHe served in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1965.\r\nCharles worked 30 years as an insurance auditor for Choicepoint until 2000.\r\nSurvivors include his mother, Mary; his wife, Janet; three sons, Tim (Tammy) of Marshfield, Tom (Lynne) of Cambridge, ME and Jerry of Temple, TX; one grandson, Dustin; one sister, Alice Gray of Brodhead, WI; two brothers, Hubert "LeRoy" (Blanche) of Janesville, WI and Merle (Sandy) of Milton, WI; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his father, Charles; a foster son, Arthur Perry; and a foster daughter, Margaret Mader.\r\nMemorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 2, 2002 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home with Pastor Rolf A. Nestingen officiating. Family and friends may call from 12:00 p.m. Monday until time of services at the funeral home.
