Charles E. Kopp, 82, of Elk Mound was called home to be with his Lord on February 17, 2010. He died peacefully, surrounded by his family at Sacred Heart Hospital.Charles was born on July 7, 1927, one of five children, to Earl and Emma (Erickson) Kopp. On January 23, 1948, he married Marian Olson and together they had four children. During his life, Charles exemplified his faith in God, dedication to family and strong work ethic in all that he did. He was a lifelong member of Amy Chapel and an active church leader. Charles enjoyed many family activities including camping, hunting, and spending time with loved ones. Throughout his life he enjoyed sharing his memories of working along side his brother Fred hauling milk and delivering for Montgomery Ward. Charles was also a successful hog farmer along with his sons at Kopp Farms near Elk Mound.Charles was loved and respected by the many people whose lives he touched. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marian; daughter, Carol (Alan) Brenden; three sons, David (Kathy) Kopp, Roger (Cindy) Kopp and Dan (Sue) Kopp, all of Elk Mound; ten grandchildren, Brenda Wagner, Jeff (Davina) Brenden, Cheryl Brenden, Steven (Tracy) Kopp, Jodi Brenden, Kelly (Kurt) Roder, David Brenden, Sara Kopp (Dustin Salsbury), Stacy Kopp (Brandon Powell) and Becca Kopp; eight great-grandchildren, Akoya, Emma, Anna, Diesel, Allie, Ella, Samantha and William; two sisters, Alice Myers and Dorothy 'Babe' Velie; a brother, Leonard Kopp; two sisters-in-law, Julienne Kopp and Dorothy Wise; a brother-in-law, Jim (Wanda) Olson; and many loving nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Fred Kopp; and three brothers-in-law, Earl Myers, Norm Velie and Charlie Wise. A precious heart stopped beating, hard-working hands to rest, though our hearts are grieving, we rejoice in his eternal rest. The family would like to thank Pastor Dale (Suzie) Bussinger along with the congregation of Amy Chapel and many friends and neighbors who have offered prayers and kindness to our family.Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2010, at Amy Chapel, off Cty. Rd. E, near Elk Lake in Dunn County with Pastor Dale Bussinger officiating. Burial will be in Rock Falls Cemetery in the Town of Rock Creek, WI. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 19, 2010 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Avenue, Eau Claire, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
