CHARLES "CHARLIE" A. LINDSLEY , 79, of 2512 New Pine Dr., Altoona and formerly of 1979 Cty. Hwy. J, town of Hallie died Tuesday, November 3, 1998 at Sacred Heart Hospital. He was born September 17, 1919 in Eau Claire to John and Mary (Bates) Lindsley. \r\nHe served in the U.S. Army during World War II from May 12, 1942 until his honorable discharge on September 23, 1945. Charlie worked in construction in the Eau Claire area for many years.\r\nSurvivors include his two sisters, Maybelle Gutsch of Altoona and Adell Waller of Pilot Grove, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.\r\nCharlie was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, William Lindsley and a sister, Florence Wies.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home with Pastor Howard Fehr officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery where VFW Post #305 will conduct military graveside rites. Friends may call 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and an hour prior to services on Friday.\r\n
