Obituary

CHARLES W. PARKER, 86, N.3767 1008th St., Town of Springbrook, passed away peacefully in his sleep Thursday, January 30, 1997 at his home. He was born August 29, 1910 in Mason City, Iowa to Herbert and Helen (Rekow) Parker.Charles married Norma Pearson on August 7, 1930 in Eau Claire.\r\nHe retired in 1973 from Uniroyal after 42 years of service (including service to his country in a defense plant during W.W.II). At age sixteen, Charles built the family homestead in Ladysmith under the direction of his grandfather, it is still occupied today. This later became base camp for hunting and fishing trips throughout his life.\r\nSurvivors include two daughters, Jeanne (Jerry) Myers of Eau Claire and Carole (Jerry) Stoflet of Rochester,MN; three grandchildren, Elizabeth (Kent) Bruinsma of Rochester,MN, Charles (Kim) Stoflet of LaCrosse and Michelle (Chris) Nelson of Rockford,IL; two great-grandchildren, Zachary Stoflet of LaCrosse and Tyler Bruinsma of Rochester,MN; three brothers, Levi (Evelyn) of Dunnellon,FL and Ladysmith, Marion and Frank (Ellen) both of Ladysmith.; several nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his wife, Norma in 1990 and an infant daughter, Betty.\r\nFuneral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday at First Baptist Church, 416 Niagara St., Eau Claire with Pastor Richard O. Goins officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Ladysmith at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday. Friends may call 4-6 P.M. Sunday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.
