Charlotte E. Johnson, 87, of Eau Claire died Friday, November 1, 2002 at Woodland Cottage. She was born May 25, 1915, the daughter of Edward and Hilda (Isaacson) Gunderson in Eau Claire. Charlotte married LeRoy W. Johnson on June 12, 1958 at Grace Lutheran Church in Eau Claire.\r\nShe graduated from Eau Claire State Teacher's College with a bachelor's degree in education. Charlotte taught in Colfax, Hammond, Withee, and New Richmond, before moving back to Eau Claire where she was a librarian at Memorial High School and Central Junior High School until her retirement.\r\nShe was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and the Wisconsin Retired Teacher's Association.\r\nSurvivors include a sister, Margaret Gunderson, Eau Claire; two nephews, Eugene (Theresa) Hutchins of DeBary, FL, and John Hutchins of Flushing, NY; a niece, Charlotte Peters-Sullivan of Little Neck, NY; two great-nephews, Chris and Ryan Peters; and several cousins.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy in 1965; her parents; a sister Lucille Hutchins in 1992; and a great-nephew, Michael Hutchins in 2000.\r\nFuneral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 5, 2002 at Grace Lutheran Church Chapel with Pastor Rolf A. Nestingen officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Church Cemetery. Family and friends may call an hour prior to services Tuesday at the church. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home is serving the family.
