Christine Helen (Cooper) Courneya, 46, of Blaine, MN, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2002 at Fairview University Hospital in Minneapolis. She was born on February 3, 1956 in Eau Claire to John and Rita (Shepler) Cooper. She graduated valedictorian from North High School in 1974 and graduated from Augsburg University with an English major.\r\nChristine married John P. Courneya at St. Timothy's Catholic Church in Blaine, MN on July 24, 1963. \r\nSurvivors include her husband, John; brother, Gregory (Patricia) Cooper of Lexington, VA; sister, Anne (Robert) Saatela of Richfield, MN; and several nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents, John and Rita; her in-laws, Joseph and Lois Courneya; and a nephew, Keith Saatela.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11:30 am Monday, August 26, 2002 at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, Eau Claire with Father Edmund Klimek officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in the town of Washington. Friends may call from 2 to 6 pm Sunday at Miller Funeral Home in Fridley, MN and two hours prior to services Monday at the church.
