Christine V. McMillan, 94, of Eau Claire, died Saturday, October 15, 2005, at Luther Hospital. She was born in Reads Landing, Minnesota on February 24, 1911, the daughter of William and Mary (Halm) Schnell. \r\nChris, or Sissie, as she was called by her family, graduated from Wabasha High School in 1928 and received a degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Minnesota School of Nursing in 1937. \r\nChris was united in marriage to William McMillan.\r\nShe worked in the offices of Herb and Ray Grewe for 32 years, cleaning teeth, teaching oral hygiene, and holding the hands of many adults and children alike. \r\nChris gave support to many family members helping them find vocations and their way through the university. She was loved by many and supported by longtime friends Dennis Eikenberry and Carol Steinke, and will be sorely missed.\r\nWhile living in Grace Lutheran Willowbrook Assisted Living, Chris received loving care from the staff, excellent accommodations, and made many good friends. \r\nShe is survived by many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband William.\r\nChris has requested no funeral services be held. Internment will be at the family ranch of Jim and Mary Wempner near Billings, MT.\r\nLenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services is assisting the family with arrangements.\r\n \r\n
