Cynthia "Cindy" Kaye Washburn, age 64 of Eau Claire, died at Mayo Clinic Health System, Eau Claire, on August 18, 2014. She was born to Joseph and Geraldine (Vorce) Lyons on March 30, 1950, in Eau Claire. She married Roger E. Washburn, the love of her life, on May 4, 1968, in Eau Claire and they shared 42 years of being happily married. Cindy drove school bus for Student Transit in Eau Claire for 21 years. Prior to driving bus, Cindy worked at Woolworths and Kmart. She was a member of the Healing Place in Eau Claire and Our Savior's Lutheran Church, where she was very active with the Quilters Group. Cindy also spent time volunteering at Mayo Clinic Health System and Feed My People. Cindy loved the outdoors, dancing and camping, but especially enjoyed spending time with her grandsons. She will be greatly missed by many, but will always be remembered for her contagious laugh and sassy attitude. Cindy is survived by; two daughters, Tammy Huebner and Lynn Washburn, both of Eau Claire; grandsons, Austin Huebner and Logan Zawistowski; brother, Larry (Ardelle) Lyons of Fall Creek; sisters, Jo Ann (Harold) Perry of Eau Claire, and Mary Jo Mai of Racine. She is further survived by her sisters-in-law, Karen Fletty of Littleton, CO, Mary (Gary) Simmons of Chippewa Falls, Gloria (Steve) Sanasac of Marshfield, Marlene (Doug) Olson of Eau Claire, Kathy Copeland of Eau Claire, and Theresa Cecchini of Eau Claire; brothers-in-law, Denny Washburn of Eau Claire, Terry (Sheri) Washburn of Aurora, CO, Mark Washburn of Eau Claire, and Ricky (Lois) of North Branch, MN; aunt, Phyllis Vorce of Eau Claire; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving relatives and special friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger in 2009; her parents; and brother-in-law, John Mai. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 24, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Avenue, Eau Claire. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1310 Main St., Eau Claire, with a visitation one hour prior to the service at church. Pastor Gail George will be officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Eau Claire.
