Clare Warner Jr., 80, of Eau Claire died Monday, July 23, 2007, at Luther Hospital.\r\nHe was born in Eau Claire on September 9, 1926, the son of Clare and Eleanor (Westberg) Warner. He was a graduate of Eau Claire Senior High School.\r\nHe served in the Pacific Theatre in the U.S. Navy during World War II on a LST and was honorably discharged on June 30, 1946.\r\nClare married Angeline D. Berg on December 27, 1947, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fall Creek.\r\nHe worked 36 years for Ed Phillips and Sons retiring as a salesman in 1988.\r\nHe was a charter member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd.\r\nClare is survived by his wife, Angeline; four sons, Charles C. Warner of Eau Claire, William (Kathy) Warner of Jackson, WY, Douglas (Debra) Warner of Eau Claire and Donald (Leanne) Warner of Ham Lake, MN; seven grandchildren, Teresa (Joe) Crowe, Andrew, Bree, Ty, Christina, James and Julia Warner; and one great grandson, Parker Warner.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Warner; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Viola Berg.\r\nWhile spending time at his lake home on Gull Lake, Clare enjoyed fishing, working in the yard and playing cards with family and friends.\r\nWe will miss you Dad. Rest in Peace.\r\nMemorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 26, 2007, at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Eau Claire with Pastor John E. Hosmann officiating. Burial will be at Trinity Cemetery in Fall Creek. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services is serving his family.\r\nFamily requests memorials be directed to the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd Debt Retirement Fund, 1120 Cedar St., Eau Claire, WI 54703.\r\n
