Obituary

Clarence J. Buchholz, age 96, of Eau Claire, went to meet Jesus and his loving wife, Betty, October 15, 2012, at his home with his family by his side. Clarence was born in the town of Allen, WI on September 21, 1916, to Archie and Tillie (Stephen) Buchholz. Clarence served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1941 until his honorable discharge in 1945. He married Betty Shilts on August 19, 1945 at Pentecostal Assembly Church in Eau Claire. Clarence worked at National Presto until 1960 at which time he and Betty started their dairy farm in Fall Creek. After their retirement from the dairy farm in 1979, Clarence and Betty traveled the US in their motorhome visiting their family. While not traveling, Clarence built many doll houses, cradles and other wood working projects for his family, with Betty decorating them. Clarence and Betty enjoyed their daily Bible reading. His faith and walk with God was a priority, which was the blueprint for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 62 years, Betty; infant daughter, Connie; daughter-in-law, Mary Buchholz; and brothers, Leslie and Otto. He is survived by his children, Johnie (Robyn) of Lebanon OR, Gary (Sandy) of Eau Claire, Pam of Eau Claire, Brent (Debbie) of Fall Creek, Julie (Rick) Kramer of Eau Claire, and Teresa (Steven) DeMoe of Eau Claire; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Ella Granger of New Lisbon, Dorothy Shilts of Crivitz WI, and Marion Cain of Eau Claire; along with other relatives and friends. Visitation will be on Friday, October 19, 2012, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral Home, WEST CHAPEL, 1405 North Clairemont Avenue, Eau Claire. Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Apostolic Faith Church, 3431 Fear Street, Eau Claire, with Pastor Todd Trapani officiating. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Eau Claire with Military Honors conducted by American Legion Post #53. "Mom and Dad are sitting on the front porch waiting for us."
