Obituary

Clarence (Skip) Campbell Jr., 77, son of Veronica and Clarence Campbell, passed from this life to the next on June 13. Though his heart sustained many with its love, it physically could not continue to sustain this amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Married to the love of his life, Suzanne, for 55 years, they were lifelong residents of Eau Claire, with the exception of two USAF tours in Kansas and California. God blessed them with three children, Jill (Don), Lori (Bill), and Scott (Christy). Grandchildren Britteny, Shannon, Claire, Sam, Maggie, and Joshua were Skip's true pride and joy. Having received his Master's degree, he was a gifted teacher for more than 30 years having touched students' lives at Chippewa Falls High School, North High School, and the Chippewa Valley Technical College until the time of his retirement. His children and grandchildren perhaps benefited the most from his knowledge of math, science, and life in general. He was quick-witted and brought thousands of smiles to many faces. Active in the Masonic and Grand Lodges, as well as other Masonic organizations, Skip made many friends across the state. As a Shriner, he supported the mission and efforts of the Shriners Hospitals across the country. Skip enjoyed fishing and hunting with family members over the years. He also loved to metal-detect and agate hunt. His passion for breweriana collecting was shared with his son and daughter-in-law. Regardless of his grandchildren's activities, he expressed interest in all and was quick to donate money to each and every fundraiser and cause. To know Skip, was to respect him. He lived a servant's life and always put others ahead of himself. His generosity, kindness, honesty, and love were qualities to be appreciated and emulated. This world was left a better place because of Skip Campbell. Though he was the wind beneath their wings, his descendants vow to fly solo to new heights in his honor and to God's glory. It was Skip's wish to spare his family the emotional upheaval of a public gathering after his death. Respecting and appreciating that request, the family will gather privately to pay tribute to their hero.\r\n Proverbs 16:9 In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.\r\n Memorials to a Shriners Hospital are preferred and can be directed to: Shriners Hospitals for Children 2211 North Oak Park Ave. Chicago, Il 60707 or http://www.shrinershq.org/HOSPITALS/CHICAGO
