Obituary

Clarence J. Froseth, 95, of Eau Claire died Saturday, February 26, 2005, at Clairemont Nursing Home in Eau Claire. \r\nHe was born August 22, 1909 to John and Caroline (Market) Froseth in Spring Brook Township. He married Lucille Barby in Eau Claire in July 1937 and they made their home in Eau Claire. Lucille died in 1971. In November 1972, he married Eleanor Gullard in South Dakota. Eleanor died in 1989.\r\nAt the age of 18, Clarence began his career in the dairy industry as a butter maker at the Elk Mound Creamery. His employment moved to Eau Claire with the Sunlight Dairy and the Dolly Madison Dairy. Clarence retired in 1971.\r\nClarence and Eleanor were active members of the Sons of Norway; Clarence remained a member until 2001. They were members of First Lutheran Church where Clarence continued to worship until he became ill in 2002. \r\nSurvivors include two his sisters, Irene (Lloyd) Lockwood of Los Angeles, CA and Hilda Froseth of Eau Claire; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was also preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Nels, Palmer, Harold, Herman, Julius and Raymond Froseth; and two sisters, Norma Isakson and Gunda Swanson.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2005, at First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dr. Duane C. Pederson officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in the Town of Washington. Family and friends may call one hour prior to services Friday at the church. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home is serving the family.\r\nClarence's family requests memorials be directed to First Lutheran Church, 1005 Oxford Avenue, Eau Claire, or to any other charity of the donor's choosing.\r\n \r\n
