Clarence H. Kroning of Naples, Florida, died Saturday, October 31, 2009. \r\nHe was born August 6, 1912, in St. Charles Minnesota. Clarence had lived in Minnesota before moving to Naples in 1977.\r\nHe graduated from Macalester College in 1936. Clarence was inducted into the Macalester Athletic Hall of Fame for his participation in football, basketball and track. His highest accomplishment, however, was breaking the college record for throwing the javelin over 215 feet. \r\nHe served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Clarence was the Vice President of the First National Bank of Minneapolis for 28 years before retiring in 1977. In his later years he enjoyed bowling, golf and fishing. \r\nClarence is survived by his devoted wife, Audrey; two daughters, Linda Kroning of Chicago, IL, and Melissa Kroning and her husband Michael Lowe of Chevy Chase, Maryland; and two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Zachary Lowe. \r\nA graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2009, at Lutheran Church Cemetery, 1820 Omaha Street, Eau Claire, WI .
