Claudia H. Allen, 69, of 420 Hudson Street died Monday, February 26, 1996 after a courageous and difficult battle with cancer at Oakwood Villa Nursing Home, Altoona.She was born December 23, 1926 in Ithaca Wisconsin to August and Mae (Lewis) Raymond. When she was ten years old she moved to Eau Claire where she graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School in 1944. During World War II, she worked as a secretary in the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. After the war Claudia returned to Eau Claire where she met John Allen and they were married on May 22, 1948. She was an active member of St. Patrick's Parish, including service as a Women's Guild officer and was a member of the Eau Claire Service League.She worked at Regis High School as office manager for seventeen years retiring in 1990. She affectionately was called "Mom" by hundreds of students there. Claudia was an avid supporter of the athletic, drama and music programs at Regis. Her other hobbies included water aerobics, sewing, traveling to Florida each winter, playing bridge and spending time with her grandchildren.\r\nClaudia is survived by her husband; a son, Terry (Mary) of Eau Claire; three daughters, Barbara (Rocco) Allen-Sisto of New York City, NY, Nancy (Patrick) Roering of Eau Claire, Susan (Bob) Bach of Brown Deer and six grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Timothy.Claudia is loved and missed by many friends and family members.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 11:30 A.M. Thursday at St. Patricks Catholic Church with Father Charles J. Hiebl officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.Friends may call 4 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home with a Public Prayer Vigil Service at 7:30 P.M.
