Clayton A. Jacobs, 88, of Chippewa Falls and formerly of Eau Claire and Stevens Point died Monday, May 1, 2006, at Chippewa Manor in Chippewa Falls. He was born on April 23, 1918, in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, the son of Raymond and Annie (Steffes) Jacobs. \r\nClayton married Agnes S. Johnson on August 14, 1940, in Minneapolis.\r\nHe served in the U.S. Army during World War II.\r\nClayton worked 45 years for the Soo Line Railroad, retiring as a supervisor in 1978.\r\nHe enjoyed golfing, wood working, and especially looked forward to his annual Northern Minnesota fishing trip with his Soo Line friends. \r\nHe is survived by his son, Robert (Betty) Jacobs of Chippewa Falls; two grandsons, Mark and Steven Jacobs; sister-in-law, Helen Sanderson of Robbinsdale, MN and nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Agnes, in 2004; a son, Bruce in 2002; his brother, Ralph; and two sisters, Evie Mueller and Ginny Paulson \r\nMemorial services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2006, at Chippewa Manor Nursing Home Chapel, 222 Chapman Road, Chippewa Falls, WI., with Rev. Robert Hoekstra officiating. Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral&Cremation Services assisted his family.
