Obituary

Clement Joseph "Clem" Boncyk, 82, of 831 Bradley Ave., died Thursday, June 21, 2001 at The Clairemont. He was born on January 6, 1919, the son of Albert and Barbara (Podlewski) Boncyk in Antigo. He served with the U.S. Army in the European Theatre and was awarded the Purple Heart. \r\nClem graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in 1940.\r\nHe married Mary Antoinette Talarczyk at St. Hyacinth's Church in Antigo on May 31, 1941. Clem was a chemist and worked in the food industry throughout his career. He retired in 1984.\r\nClem was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.\r\nSurvivors include his wife, Mary; their daughter, Barbara and her husband, Thomas Strehl, of Oneida; their son, John and his wife, Theresa, of Madison; four grandchildren, Nicholas Strehl of Portland, OR, Katrina Strehl of Green Bay, Maria and Christina Boncyk of Madison; brothers and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Louis, Raymond, and Clarence; and four sisters, Theresa Rath, Marie Reinesch, Gertrude Siemast, and Rita Boncyk.\r\nMemorial services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 30, 2001, at Immaculate Conception Church with Father Eugene Klink officiating. Friends may call an hour prior to services Saturday, June 30th at the church. Clem's body has been donated to the UW Madison Medical School. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home is assisting the family.\r\nFamily requests memorials be directed to the National Parkinson's Foundation, 1501 N.W. 9th Ave., Miami, FL, 33136 or to the donor's choice.\r\nThe family wishes to express their thanks for the care shown by Northwest Wisconsin Homecare and the staff at The Clairemont.
