Cleone Agnes (Vitek) DeRusha, 91, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 18, 2024, surrounded by her loving family Cleone was born on April 30, 1932 to Jacob and Bertha (Kelly) Vitek in Mellen, WI. The family later moved to Eau Claire. She graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School, and then she went on to attend Beauty School in Eau Claire. On August 1, 1953, Cleone married Roger DeRusha, and together they raised three sons. Cleone was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed bowling and bird watching. She also loved spending time with her sisters, brothers and extended family. She was a member of the Chippewa Falls Wildlife Association and a member of the St. Olaf P.C.C.W. Cleone is survived by her sons, Mark of Eau Claire, Matt (Julie) of River Falls; daughter-in-law, Sharon of Eau Claire; grandchildren, Curt (Nicole), Stacy (Justin), Jenni (Ross), Andrea (Tony), and Scott (Rachel); great grandchildren, Emelia, Evelyn, Ava, Logan, Eli, Reece and Ari; sister, Karen Sokol of Johnson City, TN; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger; son, Mike; sister, Vera (Dave) Lorge and brothers, Kenneth, Bob (Virginia) and Jake Jr. (Betty). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, April 27 at St. Olaf Catholic Church, 3220 Monroe St., Eau Claire, with Father James Kurzynski officiating. Visitation will take place at 9 am up until time of service at the church. Burial will be at Hope Cemetery, Chippewa Falls. Memorials may be given in Cleone's name to the American Heart Association or to any charity/organization of the donor's choice.
