Obituary

Cletus L. Weber, 86, of Eau Claire passed away, August 2, 2008, at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire. He was born on September 28, 1921, in Pepin County to Henry and Mary (Weisenbeck) Weber. He attended Mondovi High School and graduated from Buffalo County Normal School.\r\nCletus married Irene A. Lee on April 15, 1941 in Mondovi, Wisconsin.\r\nHe taught one year at East Pepin High School before enlisting in the U.S. Air Corps in September, 1942. Cletus served as a navigational officer on B-17's his final year in the service, being honorably discharged in September of 1945. He returned to Eau Claire and graduated from the Eau Claire State Teachers College. He also spent eleven years in the Eau Claire unit of the Air Force Reserve, where he was a captain. \r\nHis entire career was spent working as salesman for Sears Roebuck&Co. until his retirement in 1983. Together, with his dear wife, Irene, they enjoyed an active 25 years of retirement.\r\nCletus always looked forward to frequent trips to Florida, Texas, Hawaii, and Alaska. He enjoyed golfing and playing cards with his wife, family and friends. Summers were enjoyed at his cottage on Lake Holcombe.\r\nCletus and Irene were members of Grace Lutheran Church in Eau Claire for over 60 years.\r\nCletus is survived by his wife, Irene; one son, Gary (Eve) Weber of Seattle, WA; two daughters, Jodene (Mike) Dekan of Eau Claire, and Rena (Roger) Lunke of San Antonio, TX; eight grandchildren, Roman and Gabe Weber, Tylar (Hilary), Brandon, and Kirstin Lunke, Kris, Jamie, and Mikey Dekan; and a great-granddaughter, Greta Lunke; a brother, Marcellus (Hope) of Mondovi; a sister, Delores Johnson of Birchwood; two brothers-in-law, Armand (Joanne) Lee and Gordon (Donna) Lee; two sisters-in-law, Elinore Weber and Emily Lee; and by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; and by his brothers, Walter (Orma) and Henry Jr. (Clarina) Weber.\r\nCletus will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He will always be remembered as a kind, loving, generous, and hard working man.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, August 8, 2008, at Grace Lutheran Church, with Pastor Rolf Nestingen officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in the Town of Washington. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Friday at the church.\r\n
