Obituary

CLIFF C. BLAESER, 78, of 1902 Rudolph Court died Wednesday, January 20, 1999 at Sacred Heart Hospital. He was born November 2, 1920 in the town of Wheaton, to Carl and Tina (Martinson) Blaeser. He graduated from Chippewa High School with the class of 1938. Cliff married Vadne D. La Pean at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, in Eau Claire on June 2, 1943. He had been employed at Sears&Roebuck Co., and A.E. Rogers Auto Dealership as parts manager and later sales manager. Cliff owned and operated the Home Liquor Store from 1968, until his retirement in 1980.\r\nHe was a member of the Eau Claire Exchange Club and an Honorary Life Member of the John F. Kennedy Council # 1257 Knights of Columbus.\r\nSurvivors include a daughter, Diane (Noble) Lokken of Eau Claire; six sons, Michael (Sherry), Jeffry, Jonathan (Christine), and Alan of Eau Claire, Steven (Teresa) of Spooner and Vaughn (Karen) of Sun Prairie; 13 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; two brothers Bernard (Beverly) of Eau Claire and Willard (Marcella) of Montgomery, MN; and a sister, Jeanette (Francis) Gagnon of Holcombe.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his wife Vadne in 1984; his parents; a grandson, Matthew Blaeser; and a great-granddaughter, Sage Blaeser. \r\nA Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will be this spring in the town of Birchwood, Washburn County. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Saturday at the church. There will be a public Prayer Vigil and Knights of Columbus Service at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
