Clifford C. Polhamus (Sr.), 94, of Eau Claire died Sunday May 16, 2004 at Oakwood Villa Nursing Home in Altoona. He was born in Baxter, Iowa on November 1, 1909, the son of Charles and Louisa (Petermeier) Polhamus. Clifford married Josephine M. Zais on December 5, 1936 in Chippewa Falls. He worked over 30 years at Uniroyal, retiring as a machinist.\r\nHe loved woodworking and old-time music. \r\nSurvivors include his daughter, Marceleen (John) Brenner of Eau Claire; son, Clifford "Bud" (Audrey) Polhamus Jr. of Sparta; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; sister, Agnes (Maurice) Lewis of Arroyo Grande, CA; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nClifford was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Josephine in 1995; a grandson, Josh Polhamus in 1994; and five brothers, Lee, Leslie, Erney, Fred and Arthur.\r\nPallbearers will be Jeffrey Brenner, Steven Brenner, Bill Johnson, Andrew Polhamus, Boyd Polhamus and Samuel Polhamus.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 20, 2004 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Eau Claire with Pastor Joel A. Hoelter officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery in Augusta. Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
