Conrad D. Gunderson, 61, of Chetek, formerly of 3220 Drier Road, Eau Claire died unexpectedly Monday, June 3, 1996 at Lakeview Medical Center, Rice Lake. He was born August 24, 1934 in Eau Claire to Erling and Adeline (Jacobson) Gunderson. He served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict aboard the tanker, USS Ashtabula and was honorably discharge on July 29, 1955. Conrad married Janna L. Strand on October 19, 1957 in Eau Claire. He retired as plant foreman with Fehr Concrete after twenty three years of service in 1989. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church. As an avid hunter and fisherman Conrad had enjoyed the many times he was able to share those experiences with members of his family. \r\nSurvivors include his wife, Janna; four sons, Paul (Nancy) and Rory (Mary) all of Crystal, MN, Craig (Stephanie) of Austin, TX, and Matt (Sue) of Eagan, MN; three grandsons, Conrad II, Michael and Joshua; three granddaughters, Ann, Jasmine and Amanda; a brother, Gary (Pat) Gunderson of Eau Claire; and nieces, nephews, aunts and a uncle.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Tanya. \r\nFuneral Services will be at 2 P.M. Friday at Hope Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul D. Oppedahl officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Gardens, Town of Washington. Friends may call 5 to 8 P.M. Thursday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Friday at the church.
