Conrad S. Nelson, 86, of Eau Claire died Wednesday, May 19, 2010, at Dove Healthcare. He was born in Eau Claire on May 29, 1923, a son of Carl and Selma (Longseth) Nelson.\r\nAfter graduation Conrad attended college in Eau Claire until he joined the service in 1943, where he served in the Pacific during WWII as a U.S. Marine. \r\nConrad, along with his father and brother, operated Nelson Building and Realty in the Eau Claire area for over 50 years. He spent his free time raising beef cattle, pigeons, honey bees, and chickens. Most of all, he was a devoted dad and grandpa who enjoyed fishing, visits to Irvine Park and the root beer stand. Conrad enjoyed his new puppy, Phoebe, who was an early birthday gift from his grandchildren.\r\nConrad is survived by his daughter, Jeri Ann (Hugh) Erickson; sister, Calleen Remington; brother, Francis (Kathryn) Nelson; five grandchildren, Olivia, Trevor, and Colin Erickson, Brennan and Nathan Booth; nieces, nephews, and friends.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son; daughter, Jodi; grandson, Adam; and brother-in-law, Dr. V.K. Remington, D.D.S.\r\nPrivate family graveside services will be held at Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire with Pastor Kim Swenson officiating.
