Obituary

CORA AGNES ERICKSON, 96, formerly of 739 Hobart St, Eau Claire, died Monday, January 22, 2001 in Eau Claire. \r\nCora was born to Ole and Clara (Olson) Peterson on August 11, 1904 in Melrose, Wisconsin. She grew up in Shake Hollow in Jackson County. \r\nCora married Adolph O. Erickson on December 17, 1922 in Eau Claire, where they lived and raised their thirteen children. Cora was a longtime member of First Lutheran Church.\r\nShe is survived by nine children, Virginia A. Casper, Janet M. Andrews, Audrey A. (Loren) Frandsen, Marshall N. (Marlene) Erickson, and Robert E. (Marjorie) Erickson all of Eau Claire, Gerald J. (Joyce) Erickson of Spooner, David D. (Fabby) Erickson of Fort Atkinson, Stanley G. (Darlene) Erickson of Chetek, and Donald A. (Mona) Erickson of Milwaukee; 43 grandchildren; 73 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Emma Hinton and Thelma Fullerton both of Eau Claire, Mildred Cannizzo of Venice, FL; a brother, LaVerne Peterson of Eau Claire; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nCora was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Adolph; a daughter, Evelyn M. Erickson; three sons, Adolph A., Harold W. and Gordon R. Erickson; three daughters-in-law, Arlene, Helen and Sheri Erickson; a son-in-law, Steven Casper; nine brothers, a twin Plennie, Clyde, Morris, Paul, Lawrence, Clarence, Harry, James and Leonard "Mugs" Peterson; and an infant sister, Mildred Peterson.\r\n"In this world there is no other that can take the place of our dear Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great-Great Grandmother. We all love you and will miss you dearly."\r\nFuneral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dr. Duane C. Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Lutheran Church Cemetery in the Town of Drammen, Eau Claire County. Friends and relatives may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
