Cornie Clariette May (Chelsey) Bauer, 99, of Altoona, WI, left to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, March 25, 2013. She was a very special woman, always giving of herself to others Cornie was born on December 21, 1913, to George and Carrie (Everson) Chesley in Eau Claire. She was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church. Cornie graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School with the January Class of 1933. Cornie married Daniel R. Bauer on March 15, 1946, at Grace Lutheran Church. She truly enjoyed being a homemaker, attending Bible Study and church activities. Cornie also enjoyed painting and playing cards with friends at Eastridge Estates. Cornie's life was full. She leaves behind many people who will treasure her memory forever. Cornie is survived by nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel in 1988; her parents; four sisters, Mable (Alfred) King, Elizabeth (Guy) Hackett, Ruth Chesley and Minnie Chesley (in infancy); and one brother, Samuel (Elvina) Chesley. The family would like to thank the staff of Oakwood Villa and Mayo Clinic Health System for their ongoing care. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Grace Lutheran Church Chapel, 202 W. Grand Ave. with Pastor Rolf A. Nestingen officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services Saturday at the church. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services is serving her family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Grace Lutheran Church.
