Obituary

Cynthia "Cindy" Sue Motszko, 64, passed away at Milestone Assisted Living on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, of an acute neurodegenerative disorder, surrounded by her family. She was born on September 18, 1951 in Eau Claire, WI, to Wayne and Arlene (Meyer) Harrison. Graduating at the top of her class as Valedictorian from Elk Mound High School in 1969, Cindy continued her education, receiving her Master's degree from UWEC in Clinical Laboratory Science. In her professional career, she worked at the Marshfield Research Foundation in Clinical Immunology and later worked for Marshfield Clinic Information Systems in management. Also, Cindy worked at South Bend Medical Foundation, in South Bend IN, as a manager in clinical services. Cindy was married to Dan Motszko on August 17, 1974, in Elk Mound. Together, they had two wonderful children and enjoyed 41 years of happy marriage, great partnership, and family life. She enjoyed playing and listening to music and was a talented flute and piano player. As a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church of Marshfield, WI, she directed and sang with the choir. She was also involved in many committees and activities of the church. Cindy liked reading, gardening, and especially loved traveling with her family for outdoor adventures - skiing trips being most memorable. For over 20 years, she was involved in Meals on Wheels and took part in other various community activities. Cindy was known for her willingness to help out and would do so with a positive attitude and a gentle hand. Cindy is survived by her husband, Dan; one son, Bryon (Alicia) of Elk Mound; one daughter, Allison (Adam) Malecek of Madison; her parents; two sisters, Ann (Jerry) Lilly of Elk Mound; and Connie (Jim) Clark of Chippewa Falls; her brothers, Gary Harrison of Elk Mound, and Jack (Mary) Harrison of Elk Mound; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Vilas and Joan Hanson of Arcadia. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, many other family members and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2016, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 105 South Holly Avenue, Elk Mound, with Pastor Margaret DeMaris and Pastor Joel Deaner-Rogers officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 29, 2016, at the West Chapel of Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 1405 North Clairemont Ave, Eau Claire, and again one hour prior to the funeral at the church on Saturday. Internment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in the town of Elk Mound. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given in Cindy's name to Wesley United Methodist Church, 205 3rd Street, Marshfield, WI 54449 or Trinity United Methodist Church, 105 South Holly Avenue, Elk Mound, WI 54739.
