Cynthia "Cindy" Nicolai, 72, of Eau Claire, WI died Monday, November 28, 2022 at home.

She was born in Eau Claire on October 4, 1950 to Marvin and Lois (Thorson) Thompson.

Cindy graduated from Memorial High School with the class of 1968.

Cindy married Bernard "Butch" Nicolai on November 1, 1969 at First Lutheran Church.

She was a telephone operator for WI Bel/AT&T for 30+ years before retiring in 2002.

Cindy enjoyed bowling, bowling tournaments, music festivals, reading, watching the Packers and M&M's.

Cindy is survived by her daughter Ann (Ron) Nicolai of Boyceville; six grandchildren, Dylan, Danica, Jonathan, Conner, Nella, Raianne; sisters Mary (Rich) Wampole and Jane Loken; brother Roger (Elly) Thompson; in laws Linda Nicolai, Henry Nicolai, Mary (Terry) Knutson, Roger (Nancy) Nicolai, Mike (Karen) Nicolai, Mark (Karon) Nicolai, LeAnne (Jerry) Berg, Tim (Amber) Nicolai, Tony (Dana) Nicolai; and an enormous amount of Nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. She is further survived by her special friends, Cathy and Bill McCann and wonderful neighbors John and Linda Vogler.

She was preceded in death by her husband Butch, daughter Kristi, her parents, in laws Nic and Geri Nicolai, brother in laws Don Loken and Harry Nicolai.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the family.

The family wishes to thank Mayo Hospice, Dove West and Amy her caregiver, that allowed Cindy to enjoy her last 4+ months in her own home.

Memorial Services will be held at 12pm Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave, Eau Claire with Pastor Jim Alquist officiating. Visitation will be from 10am up until the time of service. Online condolences may be shared at www.lenmarkfh.com.
