Dagny G. Brownell, 85, of Eau Claire died Wednesday, July 30, 2003 at Dove Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Eau Claire. She was born March 11, 1918 to Mathias and Hilda (Finseth) Wang in Maquoketa, Iowa. Dagny married Elmer Brownell on December 4, 1937 at First Lutheran Church in Eau Claire.\r\nShe was a member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd.\r\nSurvivors include her husband, Elmer; two daughters, Karen Marten of Moundville, AL, and Janet (Fred) Cotton of Zephyr Hills, FL; five grandchildren, Douglas (Ann) Cotton of Tulsa, OK, Diane (David) Hofstadter of Circle Pines, MN, Tammi Crogg of Eau Claire, Lynn Knudson of Eau Claire, and Eric Marten of Cornell; five great-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; and two brothers-in-law, Lester Flaten of Eau Claire and Newell Pettis of Altoona; a sister-in-law, Emma Brownell of Eau Claire; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Margaret Flaten and Lillian Pettis; and a brother, Conrad Wang.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 5, 2003 at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd with Pastor John E. Hosmann officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Tuesday at the church. \r\nFamily requests that memorials please be directed to Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd.
