Obituary

DALE L. ANTHONY, 68, of 1325 Summit St., died Friday, October 8, 1999 at Luther Hospital. He was born on May 22, 1931 in Blytheville, Arkansas. Dale served in the U.S. Air Force as a Technical Sergeant working on T33 aircraft from 1950 - 1955. While stationed in Prestwick, Scotland, he met is wife, Mary Dick. They were married in Prestwick on June 10, 1954. \r\nHe started Anthony Custom Homebuilders in the early 1960's specializing in residential and light commercial construction. He began Anthony Heating and Cooling in 1980 which he continued to operate until his retirement in 1996.\r\nDale's passions included downhill skiing, road touring and mountain bicycling. He devoted the last three years of his life to building and flying radio controlled (RC) aircraft. He was a member of the Indianhead Country R.C. Modelers, Inc. and the Menomonie R/C Flyers. He enjoyed including all of his grandchildren in his many hobbies and helping other people with their special projects. \r\nSurvivors include his wife, Mary; a son, James (Rebecca) of Eau Claire; two daughters, Elizabeth (Steven) Statz of Maple Grove, MN, and Diane (Lee) Erickson of North Canton, OH; eight grandchildren, John King, Alex, Michelle and Phillip Anthony; Amanda and Sara Statz; Kadie and Kyle Erickson; his mother, Wilma Albrecht of Cornell; ten brothers and sisters, Donald Anthony of La Crosse, Robert (Marilyn) Anthony of Dresser, WI, Larry (Brigitte) Olmstead of Fredricksburg, VA, Juanita Patten and Nancy (Howard) Fasbender both of Cornell, WI, Bob (Pat) Olmstead of Anchorage, AK, Fred (Karla) Olmstead of Fresno, CA, Diane (Don) Oliver of Jim Falls, WI, Linda (Gale) Skistad of Inver Grove Heights, MN, and Kathy (Mark) Hauser of Missoula, MT. \r\nHe was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Olmstead; and step-father, Emory Anthony.\r\nA celebration of Dale's life will be at 11a.m. Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home with Pastor Kendall Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and an hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.
