Dale E. Ruppelt, 80, of Eau Claire died Sunday, April 27, 2014, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, surrounded by his family. Dale was born on July 22, 1933, in Augusta, to Robert Sr. and Esther (Piel) Ruppelt. Dale married Mary Lou V. Lowry on July 28, 1951, at Lake Street United Methodist Church in Eau Claire. He worked for 44 years as a machine operator at Pope and Talbot until his retirement in 1995. He was a loving husband, father and grandpa, who loved all of his grandchildren very deeply. Dale is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Lou; son, Roger (Judy) Ruppelt; two daughters, Debra Ann (Richard) Willier and Rebecca Lynn Mercer, all of Eau Claire; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; brother, Jack (Wendy) Ruppelt; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Barbara Kay Ruppelt; and a brother, Robert, Jr. Ruppelt. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., on Thursday, May 1, 2014, at Lake Street United Methodist Church, 337 Lake Street in Eau Claire, with Rev. Graham N. West officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service on Thursday at the church.
