Dalla V. Wenzel, 86, of 815 Chapin St., and formerly of 620 McDonough St., died Sunday, June 6, 2004, at Dove Healthcare in Eau Claire. She was born in Eau Claire on March 5, 1918, the daughter of Conrad and Bertha (Krause) Wenzel. She attended Tenth Ward School (Longfellow) and Eau Claire Junior and Senior High Schools, graduating in 1936. Dalla worked several years at K-Mart, and was a talented seamstress working from her home.\r\nShe was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed reading her daily devotions, sewing, playing cards and gardening. Dalla was an avid sports fan following baseball, basketball and the Packers.\r\nSurvivors include her daughter, Karen (Oscar) Paulsrud of Eau Claire; two grandchildren, Jessica (Bryon) Paulsrud Hoehn of Lyndon Station, WI and Luke Paulsrud of Eau Claire; sister-in-law, Gen Wenzel of LaCrosse; many nieces and nephews; and friend and care giver, Phyllis Peterson of Altoona.\r\nDalla was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Henry Wenzel; three sisters, Marguerite Kurth, Bertha Haugen and Lucille Wenzel; and two brothers-in-law, Larry Kurth and Tom Haugen.\r\nA celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2004 at St. John's Lutheran Church with Pastor Thomas W. Bryan officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Eau Claire.
