Daniel Kenneth "Ken" Bell, 92, of Eau Claire, died Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at Luther Hospital.\r\nHe was born in Loyal, WI, on March 15, 1916, the son of George and Agnes (Wazniki) Bell.\r\nKen married Doris A. Hanson on November 4, 1939, in Eau Claire.\r\nDuring World War II he served in Japan with the US Army. \r\nKen worked his entire career at Bell Telephone Company until retiring in 1978, and was a lifetime Telecom Pioneer member. \r\nHe loved to fish, especially trout fishing, and also enjoyed hunting. Ken was a member of St. Olaf Parish, and when he was younger, very active in the Knights of Columbus.\r\nKen is survived by his wife Doris; four daughters; Mary (Chuck) Offerman of La Crosse, Susan (Bud) Benike of Richfield, MN, Kristine (John) Kempf of Osseo, and Teresa Bell-Stone of Elk Mound; seven grandchildren, Terri Vanderzee of Woodinville, WA, John (Janelle) Vanderzee of La Crosse, Kristy Vanderzee of Onalaska, Kathy (Dan) Kocher of Spring Lake Park, MN, Ken (Tina) Gladen of Mounds View, MN, Jim (Jennifer) Kempf of Canton, MI, and Rick Kempf (Shari Scully, fiancée) of Crystal Lake, IL; five great grandchildren, Morgan, Gretchen, Allison, Taylor and Mikayla; his sister, Ramona Miller of Eau Claire; and several nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James Bell and Jerome Bell (in infancy); one sister, Ruth Sera; and two grandchildren, Sandra and David Vanderzee. \r\nMass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 23, 2008, at St Olaf Catholic Church, 3220 Monroe St., Eau Claire with Father Brian Konopa officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Eau Claire. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Friday at the church. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services is serving his family.\r\n
