DARLENE JANE ZELL-SMITH, 66, of Lompoc,CA, and formerly of Eau Claire, died Friday, November 26, 1999 at Luther Hospital. She was on born July 1, 1933 in Eau Claire to Lyle "Buck" and Viola "Babe" Shepler. She graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School with the class of 1952. Darlene married David Zell in Eau Claire on February 13, 1954, they resided in Eau Claire and Altoona, where they raised their children. She married Richard Ringhand in Fond du Lac in 1973. Darlene married Glenn Smith in Las Vegas, NV in 1983. She was a resident of California since 1978 where she worked as a residential realtor.\r\nSurvivors include three children: Wade (Jeanne) Zell of Phoenix, AZ and their children, Jennifer and Jamie Zell, Jeff and Jay Horak, and Jody Stein; Wendy Zell of Janesville, WI, and her daughter, Tarynne; and Marc (Janice) Zell of Thorp, and their children, Heather, Sonya, Matthew, and Mariah Zell; four great-grandchildren, Jacob, Caitlyn, Troy, and Brandon; ten brothers and sisters: Roger (Shirley) Shepler, Mary (Dave) Stygar, Jackie Andersen, Larry (Irma) Shepler, Gretchen (Chris) Hotchkiss, Mike (Ginny) Shepler, and Denny (Rose) Shepler, all of Eau Claire, Terry (Sandi) Shepler of Eagan, MN, Randy (Nancy) Shepler of New Auburn, Danny (Jean) Shepler of Fort Wayne, IN; a brother-in-law, William (Gloria) Smith of Carlsbad,CA; and many friends.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Smith in 1999, and her parents.\r\nFuneral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home with Pastor Thomas W. Bryan officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to services on Tuesday.
