Darwin F. Foster, 88, of Eau Claire passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, February 6, 2005. He was born October 9, 1916, in Friendship, Adams County to Bert and Mary (McLaughlin) Foster.\r\nDarwin married Bessie Raeth on February 8, 1945, at St. Stephens Lutheran Church in Edgar. They lived in the Edgar area before moving to Eau Claire where they raised three daughters and one son. He worked for many years in sales and retail. Darwin worked sixteen years for the State of Wisconsin prior to his retirement in 1981.\r\nDarwin is survived by his wife, Bess; three daughters, Connie Rieck of Eau Claire, Diane (Richard) Finch of Chippewa Falls, and Rhonda (Peter) Blomquist of Bay City; one son, Gary (Karen) of Eau Claire; nine grandchildren, Tom, Kris, Jason, Roshanda, Janelle, Jon, Jeff, Dan, and Lisa; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and six sisters.\r\nFuneral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, February 10, 2005, at St. John's Lutheran Church with the Reverend Thomas W. Bryan officiating. Burial will be in Prairie View Cemetery in the Village of Lake Hallie. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Thursday at church.\r\n
