David A. Blaeser, 66, of New Auburn, WI died on Wednesday, February 22, 2012, peacefully at home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer. David was born on November 7, 1945 in Kearney, Nebraska to Bernard and Beverly (Walker) Blaeser. He was a 1963 graduate of North High School. David was employed with the State of Wisconsin for over 33 years, first as an x-ray tech, then as an orthopedic appliance tech. He retired in 2001. Throughout his life he enjoyed many outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing. He was also a past member of the Fort Old Abe Muzzle Loaders Club where he met and made some wonderful lifelong friends. He married Carol A. Gullikson on September 2, 1967 in Eau Claire. David is survived by his wife of over 44 years, Carol; children, Kimberly (Grant) Heiman of Fall Creek, Tammy, and Matthew both of Eau Claire; brother, Dennis (Joann) of Eau Claire; father, Bernard Blaeser of Eau Claire; grandchildren, Garrett (Gwen), Jayde, Breanna, and Mackenzie Heiman. Oh, and we must not forget his beloved dog Paco! He is also survived by his wife Carol's brothers, Gordy, Tom, Steve, and Rick, whom he also considered his brothers; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly. David had asked that there be no service, but instead a Celebration of Life party which will be held at a later date.
