David J. Kuhn, 60, of Eau Claire, died unexpectedly Monday, July 21, 1997 at Luther Hospital. He was born ODecember 28, 1936 at New Hampton, Iowa to Andrew and Cecilia (Sindelar) Kuhn. He graduated from Regis High School in 1954 and then joined the U.S. Navy on his 18th birthday. Dave married Mary Bowman on May 28, 1960 in Eau Claire. He owned and operated Kuhn Heating and Air Conditioning with his son, Tim. Dave was an active member of the John F. Kennedy Council #1257 Knights of Columbus for 38 years and served on the Eau Claire Heating Board for 15 years.\r\nSurvivors include his wife, Mary; two sons, Michael (Tammy) of Holmen and Timothy "Skinn" of Eau Claire; a daughter, Janice (Cory) Williams of Mpls,MN; a grandson, Ryan Seidl of Chippewa Falls; and a sister, Constance (Owen) Lecheler of Fort Collins,CO.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents.\r\nDave was a devoted husband, father, and a true craftsman. He enjoyed boating, snowmobiling, cars and took pride in preparing pig roasts at numerous occasions for his church, family and friends.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. James the Greater Catholic Church with Father John A. Schultz officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery with VFW Post #305 conducting military graveside rites. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Friday at the church. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. Thursday for the public and the Knights of Columbus at the funeral home.
