David Roger Pierce, 67, of Eau Claire died Monday, May 2, 2005, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. He was born in Eau Claire on August 25, 1937, the son of Mervin and Myrtle (Shay) Pierce. He attended Mondovi Senior High School.\r\nDavid married Clarice H. Amble on September 28, 1963, at First Lutheran Church. \r\nHe farmed his entire life on the family farm in the Town of Brunswick. David also worked as a carpenter with home building and remodeling, and worked for a time in the maintenance department with the Eau Claire Area School District. \r\nDavid was a member of First Lutheran Church in Eau Claire where he had served on the Property Committee. \r\nHe was an avid hunter, and also enjoyed fishing, bird watching, camping, snowmobiling, gardening, and country music. \r\nDavid loved spending time with his grandchildren. He had a wonderful sense of humor, was a great story teller, and enjoyed having fun with family and friends. David is survived by; his wife, Clarice; two daughters Jane Pierce (Jody Doro) of Rhinelander; Teresa (Jeff) Holmes of Eau Claire; three grandchildren, Daniel and Kaitlin Holmes, and Joshua Doro; his mother, Myrtle of Eau Claire; sister, Barbara (Bruce) Wulff of Mondovi; three nephews, Craig, Dan (Lisa) and Tim Wulff; a niece, Wendy (Mike) Mosley, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his father, Mervin; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Hattie Amble; and sister-in-law, Elaine Amble.\r\nDavid will be sadly missed by his family and friends.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2005 at First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dr. Duane C. Pederson officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
