David B. Running, 54, of Eau Claire, died unexpectedly on May 26, 2014 in Jefferson County. David was born October 7, 1959, in Eau Claire, the son of Gerald and Gloria (Bonnin) Running. David graduated from North High School in 1978. In 1982, he married Joyce Vehlow at First Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. David was the one everyone looked to for help. He could build anything and fix anything. He started his own business in 1990. In his free time he enjoyed hunting, bowling, curling, golfing and going to the races. He loved working with kids and over the years coached baseball, football, basketball and softball. David was deeply loved and will be missed by his wife of 32 years Joyce, children; Mitch Running of La Crosse, Katie Running of Eau Claire, brothers; Steven (Barb) Running of Eau Claire, Brian (Kelly) Henning of Eau Claire, Chris (Jenee) Henning, of Eau Claire, and Kyle (Janel) Henning of Eau Claire, sisters; Tami (John) Schmitt of Eau Claire, Terri (Joe) Fischer of Milwaukee, and Amy (Jason) Nowak of Milwaukee. David will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends. David was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Gloria, and his grandparents. The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, May 30, 2014, at Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave. Eau Claire from 4 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. A memorial service will be held on Saturday May 31, 2014 at First Lutheran Church 1005 Oxford Ave. Eau Claire, at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Amy J. Odgren officiating.
