David S. Wolf, 67, of Eau Claire, died Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire David was born in Eau Claire on January 24, 1946, a son of Frederick and Bernice (Anderson) Wolf. David attended First Ward School in Eau Claire and was confirmed at Hope Lutheran Church on September 7, 1972, by Pastor Obid Anderson. David had worked for the Career Development Center, Development and Training Center, and REACH, all in Eau Claire. He participated in the Special Olympics, winning medals and awards in bowling, baseball and frisbee. One year, he even opened the Special Olympics Buckshot Run by singing the "Star Spangled Banner". David was proud to be a Boy Scout and display his badges on his uniform. He enjoyed going to basketball games at North High School, listening to the Brewers, and watching the Green Bay Packers. David is survived by his sister-in-law, Joan Wolf of Eau Claire; cousins, Al Gilbertson, Margie Rudd, Frances Becker, Bob Woletz, and John Woletz, all of Eau Claire; other family members, Bob (Arlene) Easterson of Oshkosh, Shirley (Wayne) Gorell of Stevens Point, and Bonnie (Steve) Haug of Eau Claire; and also by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenneth Wolf; and special aunt, Mitzie Woletz. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 21, 2013, at Hope Lutheran Church 2226 Eddy Lane in Eau Claire with Pastor Jon Mann officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Chippewa Falls. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave. in Eau Claire and again one hour prior to the service Friday at the church. Memorials may be directed to the donor's favorite charity or Hope Lutheran Church. Joan would like to thank Dr. Sandager and his staff, the doctors and nurses at Sacred Heart Hospital, David's group home family, and Bonnie and Steve Haug for their support and care throughout David's life.
