Dean A. Sanders, age 49 of Eau Claire, died unexpectedly as a result of a pulmonary embolism on Saturday, February 9, 2013, at Sacred Heart Hospital, in Eau Claire, WI. Dean was born on August 5, 1963 in Eau Claire WI, to Melvin and Dorothy (Quale) Sanders. He graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1981. He then attended Blackhawk Technical College graduating in Aviation Mechanics. Dean served in the U.S. Army until his honorable discharge on November 29, 1987. He worked for W.S. Darley in Chippewa Falls and was as a mechanic for the Mayo helicopter. He was most recently employed as a truck driver. Dean was an avid Twins and Packer fan. He enjoyed collecting sports memorabilia, fishing and spending time outdoors. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his daughter, Sierra and son, Shane. Dean is survived by his daughter, Sierra; son, Shane; parents, Melvin and Dorothy Sanders; sisters, Carolyn (Larry) Small and Linda (Lee) Helberg; along with other relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 14, 2013, at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 1120 Cedar Street, Eau Claire, with a visitation one hour prior to the service at church. Pastor Gerd Bents will officiate. Interment will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, town of Washington, with military honors conducted by the Eau Claire American Legion Post #53.
