Deborah D. "Debbie" Swartz (Mousel), age 54 of Cornell, formerly of Elk Mound, died unexpectedly on Friday, November 20, 2015 in Chippewa County. Debbie was born July 25, 1961 in Eau Claire, WI to Lawrence and Eva (Rudahl) Mousel. She was a graduate of Elk Mound High School and went on to get her Bachelors Degree at the UW-Eau Claire. Debbie married Kevin Swartz on May 15, 1999 in Eau Claire. Debbie grew up in Elk Mound and moved to Eau Claire. In about 1998 the family moved back to Elk Mound, purchasing and living in "The Old Home Place" where she grew up. She and Kevin recently moved to the Cornell area and she was currently employed by the Augusta Nursing Home as the office manager. Debbie loved the outdoors which was evident by her hobbies of boating, jet skiing, snowmobiling, camping and traveling. Her trip to Hawaii was one of the highlights of her life. She had a "green thumb" and enjoyed working in her flower garden. Her love for her dogs was immeasurable. Debbie is survived by her husband, Kevin of Cornell; two step-sons, Josh (Christina) Swartz of S. Whitley, IN and Jacob Swartz of Eau Claire; three grandchildren, Noel, Leon and Elaine; eight sisters, Jeanne Mousel, Mary (Robert) Myers, Barb Meyer, Judy (Randy) Mayer, Patty (Bob) Marlette, Theresa (Albert) LaRock, Carrie (Don) Wirth and Rose (Ronnie) Hopper; three brothers, Tim (Brenda) Mousel, Robert (Vickie) Mousel and Tom (Pam) Mousel; in-laws, Noel and Carol Swartz; four brothers-in-law, Kenneth (Julia) Manor, Mike Manor, Scott (Nadine) Manor and Jeff Manor; sister-in-law, Annette Manor; special friends, Jill, Mary and Jan; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Eva (Rudahl) Mousel; one brother, Steven Mousel; brothers-in-law, Anoop Dhillon and Terry Manor; nephew and niece, Abram Mousel and Rachel Wirth. A Funeral Mass will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 2502 – 11th Ave, Eau Claire, with Father Tom Krieg officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, November 27, 2015 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home West, 1405 N. Clairemont Ave, Eau Claire and also one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be held following the service at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Spring Brook Township, Dunn County, WI.
