Delores A. (Polden) Wilkie-Fox, 86, of Eau Claire, peacefully passed away with her two sons at her side on March 30, 2017, at Grace Woodland Assisted Care Facility in Eau Claire. Delores was born May 4, 1930, in Eau Claire, a daughter to Olai and Eleanor (Sorenson) Polden. Delores married Donald Wilkie on August 7, 1948, in Eau Claire, WI. Don passed away Jan 11, 1972. She married Arthur Fox on May 26, 1976, in Eau Claire, WI. Art passed away May 1, 2014. Everyone always commented how lucky she was to have found two wonderful husbands. Delores worked many years raising her sons and then worked in the University Food Service Department at UW-Eau Claire. She enjoyed talking to and getting to know the college students and professors. In her younger years she worked at Woolworths downtown and later managing the K-Mart bakery. Delores was known for being an accomplished needle worker and knitter, and working with her outdoor plants. She loved baking her famous chocolate chip cookies and rice crispy bars covered in chocolate along with many other goodies. All the grandchildren knew the way to her heart was to bring her Double Stuff Oreo cookies or any kind of chocolate. Delores is survived by her two sons, Gerald (Ruby) Wilkie and Mark (Pat) Wilkie, all of Eau Claire; four grandchildren, Angie, Ryan, Heather, and Dustin; seven great-grandchildren, Aaron, Jordan, Logan, Kaia, Skye, Ayden, and Peyton; two sisters, Jeanne Erlandson and Carole Schilling; one brother, Richard Polden; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Delores was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Donald Wilkie and Arthur Fox; and one sister, Geraldine Polden. Funeral Services will be at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave, Eau Claire, with Pastor Brahm Semmler Smith officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, Eau Claire. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire. We will remember her Christmas Eve ham dinners, gooey scotcharoos (which more than one person got sick on because they ate too many), her great spaghetti, and the best homemade potato salad in the world.
