Dennis V. Ableidinger, age 80, of Eau Claire, died Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Dove Healthcare-West, Eau Claire. Dennis was born April 23, 1934, in Pepin County Township of Waubeek, WI, the son of LaVern and Lucille (Kothbauer) Ableidinger. Dennis was raised in Lima, WI, where he attended school and helped his parents on their farm. After serving in the Army National Guard, Dennis married Thelma Weiss on October 4, 1958. Thelma and Dennis were blessed with six children. During this time, Dennis farmed and had a strong passion for mechanical work. Throughout his life, Dennis possessed a strong work ethic. Dennis married Jeanette Christner on March 31, 1989. He then worked as a service manager for Coca Cola until his retirement in 2000. After retirement, Dennis worked part time for L&M, Walco and the Tradin' Post. During his free time, Dennis could be found outside tinkering with his tractors and automobiles, or enjoying his garden. Dennis also cherished the time spent with his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other family. Dennis will be deeply missed by Jeanette, his wife of 25 years; his four daughters, Denice Kistner of Sheboygan WI, Dianne Samuel, of Spring Valley WI, Patti (Jeff) Fries of Pappillion, NE, and Suzanne (Steve) Secraw of Nelson WI; his son, Tim (Kathy) Ableidinger, of Baldwin, WI, step-children, Wayne (Lynn) Hanson of Menomonie, WI, and Cynthia (Mark) Bauer of Fall Creek, WI; brother, Gene (Rose) Ableidinger of Eau Claire, WI; sisters, Bonnie Franzwa of Eau Claire, Sandra (Ivan) Haynes of Madison, WI, and Carol (John) Welsh of Phoenix, AZ; sixteen grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Dennis is further survived by his lifetime friend, Ed Kezar. Dennis will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; and first wife, Thelma (Weiss) Ableidinger. Visitation will be held from 1 to 3pm on Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral Home-West Chapel, 1405 N.
