Obituary

Dennis A. Ducommun, age 60, of Wilson, WI, passed away peacefully, Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Veterans Hospital in Minneapolis, MN with his wife by his side. Dennis was born June 16, 1955 in Chippewa Falls, WI to Harold and Doris (Austin) Ducommun. He enlisted in the US Army at the age of sixteen and made a career, serving his country from 1972 until 1982 . He accomplished his High School Diploma and attended some college while enlisted. He also earned awards such as, Red Badge I, II and III, Good Conduct Medal, 3rd CLASP, Korean National Defense Ribbon and M-16 Expert Medal. He was stationed in Texas, Colorado, Hawaii and Korea. While in Korea he met the love of his life, Dong Hi Kil. They were married on February 7, 1975 in Seoul, Korea. They later moved to the states and settled in Wilson. Dennis was trained as a lineman and electronics always interested him. He loved to tinker and repair T.V.'s and other electronics. He was also a mechanic and liked to work on motorized vehicles. His main joy was to go four wheeling with his wife and their friends. Dennis is survived by his wife, Dong Hi "Emma" of Wilson; one son, Ricky (Leah Kirby) Ducommun of Eau Claire; grandchildren, Devin, Leilah, Aeislin and Lennon; and a grandbaby due in January; step-grandchildren, Alexander and Landin; six siblings, David, Suzanne Cox, Ronnie, Leonard (Kim), Paula (Douglas) Sessions and Timothy (Kandie); many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Doris (Austin) Ducommun; one brother, Leroy; and one sister-in-law, Mary. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Birch Street Baptist Church, 3120 Birch St, Eau Claire, WI, with a Funeral Service at 7 p.m. at the church with Pastor Timothy Hallett officiating. Interment will take place on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 12:00 noon at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN with military honors. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 first Ave, Eau Claire is serving the family. .
