Obituary

Dennis Delvin Geissler, 68, of Chippewa Falls, died Saturday, September 27, 2008, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.\r\nHe was born on July 4, 1940, in Bloomer, WI, the son of Delvin and Bernice (Siverling) Geissler.\r\nDennis graduated from Bloomer High School in 1958 and immediately enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served in the 320th Security Agency Battalion, traveling to Germany, Turkey, and various countries until his honorable discharge on February 15, 1962.\r\nDennis married Carol L. Prince on June 13, 1964, at St. John's the Baptist Church in Cooks Valley, WI. She passed away on November 18, 2006.\r\nDennis spent over 20 years working for Uniroyal as a tire builder. His remaining years he worked at Hutchinson Technology in Eau Claire. \r\nSurvivors include his four children, Denise (Randy) Rubenzer of Tony, WI, and their children, Derek and Ross; Kelly (Darrell) Davis of Seattle, WA, and their children, Simone and Noel; Robin (Lonnie) Kopel of Olivia, MN, and their children, Haley and Lauren; Mitchell (Elizabeth) Geissler of Manitowoc, WI, and their children, Zachary and Clara; his mother, Bernice Geissler of Bloomer; brother, Ron (Jeanne) Geissler of Minnetonka, MN; two sisters, Evie Seidlitz of Cornell and Deon Dachel of Chippewa Falls; and nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was also preceded in death by his father, Delvin; and a brother, Lloyd. \r\nA Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2008, at Church of Notre Dame in Chippewa Falls with Father Brian J. Jazdzewski officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior services Tuesday at church. Burial with Military Honors will be held Tuesday afternoon at Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery near Spooner, WI. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral&Cremation Services of Eau Claire is serving his family.\r\nIn lieu on flowers, memorials to the family are preferred.
