Denver L. Rosenau, 89, of Eau Claire died Sunday, May 1, 2005, at his home. He was born March 12, 1916, in Augusta, the son of Herman and Selma (Lange) Rosenau. His family moved to Fairchild in 1919 and then to Madison in 1930. He graduated from Madison Center High School and attended the UW-Madison.\r\nHe was a naval reservist, called to active duty in 1940. Denver served on the destroyer U.S.S. Fox one year before the declaration of World War II, and then on it throughout the war in the Pacific theater. \r\nDenver married Alma R. Buck on March 17, 1943, in Seattle, Washington. \r\nHe was a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church, a life member of V.F.W. Post #305, and charter member and past president of the Wisconsin Association of Physical Plant Administrators. He retired as Physical Plant Director at the UW-Eau Claire in 1979 after 33 years of service.\r\nDenver is survived by his two sons, Mike (Lily) of San Antonio, TX and Paul of Ojai, CA; daughter, Roberta "Bobbi" (Jim) Hedman of St. Paul, MN; three granddaughters, Veronica (John) Meyer of South St. Paul, and Maria and Sara Rosenau, both of San Antonio; and three great grandsons, Zachary Meyer, Robert and Freddy Rosenau.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his wife, Alma, in 1995; his parents; brother, Robert and sister-in-law Mary Rosenau; and his sister, Ruth and brother-in-law William Platt.\r\nMemorial services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2005, at Epiphany Lutheran Church, with Pastor Russell Kampfer officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in the Town of Washington. Family and friends may call an hour prior to services Wednesday at church.
