Diana Lou Connell, 70, of Eau Claire, died Saturday, September 08, 2012, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire, after a long illness. Diana was born on February 19, 1942, in Eau Claire to Laverne and Joyce (Neubauer) Connell. She grew up in Altoona and graduated from Altoona High School. She married and later divorced Duane Gunderson. Together they had a son, Gerald Gunderson. Diana retired from Uniroyal and has lived in Eau Claire since her retirement. She enjoyed being with her many friends, and especially enjoyed playing cards at LE Phillips Senior Center. She also enjoyed the company of her cats, Morrie and Angel. Diana is survived by her son, Gerald (Lynn) Gunderson; grandchildren, Anthony and Kailee Gunderson; sisters, Janine (Bob) Wildenberg, and Colleen Connell (Dick Price); brothers, Keith (Linda), Patrick, and Dennis; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorial Service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 13, 2012, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 601 Fall St. in Eau Claire. Pastor Carlton Kangas will officiate. Visitation will start at 9:30 at church. The burial will be private at a later date. Memorials are preferred to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church or Eau Claire County Humane Association.
