Dion C. Hazelwood, 49, of Eau Claire died Saturday, December 20, 2014, in Eau Claire. Dion was born on October 12, 1965, in Albany, OR, a son of Charles and Barbara (Vervalin) Hazelwood. Dion married Christine Scott on February 12, 1988, in St. Paul, MN and they later divorced. They had two lovely daughters, Heather and Meghan, in whom he was very proud of. Dion was a hard working man who was artistic in many ways, enjoyed his time in the kitchen, and being outdoors. Dion made friends everywhere he went, always lent a helping hand, and held his close friends near and dear to his heart. Dion had worked at Jennie-O Turkey in Barron, WI, for 11 years. He was most recently employed at U-Can Recycling in Eau Claire. Dion is survived by his two daughters, Meghan of Barron, WI, and Heather of Altoona, WI; grandson, Elias Grinder of Altoona; mother, Barbara Lees of Fargo, ND; brother, Shawn (Nicole) Lees of Moorhead, MN; sister, Stephanie (Jeff) Meyer-York of Fargo, ND; and ex-wife, Christine Scott of Barron, WI. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Hazelwood; brother, Todd Hazelwood; step-father, Harlan Lees; and a step-brother, Floyd Lees. Private family service was held.
